Handwritten contemporary copy of the petition for the establishment of Groton, Massachusetts, with the names of subscribers William Martin, Richard Blood, John Witt, William Lakin, Richard Haven, Timothy Cooper, John Lakin, John Blood, Mathu Farrington, and Robert Blood. Verso has the grant to petitioners by the General Court dated 25 May 1655 signed by Edward Rawson, Secretary, and also signed by William Torrey indicating that the proprietors consent to the grant.
